Born in BRONX, N.Y where he lived part of his infant life, and later relocated to the DOMINICAN REPUBLIC, where surrounded by musical influence’s. Phil became more attracted to what it was obvious to everyone, his natural ability to perform.
At the age of nineteen, he became the lead vocalist for “ ORQUESTA YARE, a group of eight young men all with the same expectations, to touch the publics heart with the most popular and exciting music of all times “ LA SALSA “.
Phil Robinson relocated to Los Angeles where because of original style and charisma, became the lead vocalist for “ HENRI MORA and “ LA SALSA ALL STARS “, “ LA SORPRESA “ in which he recorded his first album, and composed four songs, “ AZUQUITA Y SU MELAO “ well known Panamanian Salsa singer, “ M C # 1 “ as lead vocalist, and recorded two productions one of which is entitled “ SALSA PARA EL MUNDO ENTERO “, on the FONOVISA LABEL. As lead vocalist Phil has performed as opening act for, OSCAR DE LEON,TITO PUENTE ,TITO NIEVES, GRUPO NICHE, MILES PEÑA, EL CANARIO, CELIA CRUZ,WILLIE CHIRINO, and JOHNY PACHECO and with Tony Vega as backgorund vocals.
